Getting Started

The Campus Map is an interactive web mapping application that has many useful features. Once you become acquainted with the available tools you will soon find the map to be an informative resource that can provide quick and easy results.

  1. When the page opens the map will show the entire campus area, major roads and buildings, as well as other university-owned facilities in Columbia.
  2. Use the Find a Building menu above the map to locate a building quickly. Select any building from the list and the map will zoom to that area.
  3. If you have a wheel mouse, zoom in on the map by moving the mouse over the map and scrolling the wheel forward a few times.
  4. When you zoom in you'll notice that more layers become visible on the map. Due to the high level of detail in this map, most layers are set to display at smaller scales. Otherwise the map would appear cluttered and illegible when viewed at large scales.
  5. Above the map there is a Toolbar for interacting with the map. See the Toolbar reference page for detailed instructions for each of the tool functions. Toolbar
